RESEARCH PRINCIPAL (2023-24)

Sarah Asson served as the research principal in 2023-24. She earned her PhD in Educational Leadership from the Education Policy Studies at Penn State University. Currently, she is a Researcher at Education Northwest. Her research interests include patterns of racial segregation and inequality in K-12 schools as well as policy and legal solutions to foster equitable integration. Her dissertation, funded by a grant from the American Educational Research Association and National Science Foundation, documented patterns and outcomes of changes to school attendance zones in the DC metro, including by using CRDC data to assess how students are rezoned to schools with varying educational opportunities.
