Inaugural Conference 2024

March 26 - 27, 2024 | Washington D.C.

We are excited to announce that AdvancED Equity hosted a conference to build consensus on an interdisciplinary research agenda that aligns and bridges work on civil rights protections across research, practice, and policy in educational institutions in the U.S. Professor Gary Orfield delivered the keynote address on the central role that civil rights enforcement plays in promoting equitable student experiences in schools and colleges. The structural determinants of students’ opportunity to learn underpinning civil rights enforcement in educational institutions cuts across many areas within education and our goal was to bring together scholars with different perspectives on these issues.

Attendance at the conference was by invitation only.
